In ?kami, the legendary monster Orochi has come back to life and turned the world into a veritable wasteland. Players must assume the role of a wolf, an embodiment of the sun god Amaterasu, which is capable of wielding unimaginable power. The state of the world lies in your hands as you must fight ominous beings and reclaim the earth from a curse that plagues it. It is crucial to help Amaterasu make the world a place where all living creatures can dwell once again. Defeating the creatures that Amaterasu encounters will not be a small feat. The real-time fighting system not only involves biting and ramming strikes, but also allows for various attacks using bronze mirror of Yata on its back as well as a host of other unique abilities.  Fun game, lots of gameplay November 30, 2008

This game is great for anyone who likes to be involved in games for a long time. It's visually beautiful, fun to play, and leaves me wondering what will happen next in the story. It's also very good at reusing maps so that you don't have to learn the intricate details of a new map for every adventure.

This is a beautiful game with a wonderful game mechanic. You have a power that enables you to pause the game and make brush strokes on screen. You can fill in areas, repair bridges, make cuts, etc. It truly expands the mind.
The only negative that affects gameplay may be puzzles that are too difficult or the brushwork not being easy to do.
Highly recommended.

This game was quite easily probably the best game I have ever played in my life. The story line was amazing and wrapped you into it, the visuals, they were simply fantastic, the game play was very precise and couldn't be any better. It took me 56 or so hours to beat so it was well worth the money in quality and in time it took to play. Plenty of secrets and side-quests to find. I would without a doubt give this game a 10 out of 10.
Great game for the wii November 25, 2008
This is one of those games you don't wanna miss on your Wii. Okami is an adventure/action game, with an awesome art style and equally impressive graphics effects. The story is good as far as you can enjoy the adventure part.
If you like japanese-style art, you'll fall in love with okami.
Overall, a pretty good game.

I owned and played this game on the PS2 and unquestionably thought it was one of the absolute best games of this genre I had played, excluding The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Fast Forward to a month ago.... I had sold my PS2 and really wanted to play the game some more, dig into the collection quests a bit and really just enjoy its inherent beauty. I figured I would buy the Wii version and add the experience of using the Wiimote for the in-game paintbrush movements.
I had the game less than three days before I sold it back. I found nearly impossible and completely frustrating trying to make the lines and circles with the wiimote. I'm not sure if the Wiimote is incredibly sensitive or if I just cant make a straight line in the air. Either way, it's not fun. Having to try to paint over parts of the screen three and four times or trying to make three lines in a row (required to advance the story) was nearly impossible for me.
If you have a have a PS2, you must buy and play this game. If you don't.. get one... don't settle for the Wii version.
